I’ve travelled through many parts of New England over many summers. To see the generation of young people dead from this epidemic is heart wrenching. The Sacklers should be stripped of every penny.

NO ONE IS SOBER IF THEY ARE ON SUBOXONE!! RAISING TOLERANCE IS NOT A BLOCKER, I REPEAT! NOT! A! BLOCKER! THERE IS NO BLOCKER FOR AN OPIOID OR THERE WOULD BE NO POINT IN TAKING SUBOXONE TO RELIEVE DETOX SYMPTOMS(WHICH IS ALL THAT DOES, U WILL HAVE TO GO THROUGH DETOX LIKE IT OR NOT TO TRULY BECOME SOBER!) THERE IS ONLY ONE SOBER CONSISTING OF ZERO DRUGS THAT AFFECT OR HIJACK THE SPIRIT! THEREFORE THIS IS WHY THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY TO TRULY STAY SOBER/CLAIM SOBRIETY AND WORK FOR NEW SUBSTANCE WITHIN to get or have REAL COPE SKILLS IN LIFE WITHOUT A PATCHES LIKE SUBOXONE! holding u up keepin u stuck goin in circles.THIS IS FOUND WITHIN 10,11,12 OF THE STEPS, FOR ANY DRUG/DRINK THAT HIJACKS THE MIND! OF COURSE STAYIN SOBER WHILST THIS PROCESS IS BEING PRACTICED DAILY FOR YEARS AND YEARS AND YEARS. ANYTHING FAST IS NOT REAL AND WILL ONLY LEAD TO RELAPSE AGAIN ON THE DRUG O CHOICE,ITS JUST A MATTER OF TIME, MEANWHILE NO REAL PROGRESS EMOTIONALLY/GROWIN UP/PROGRESSING FORWARD IN LIFE CAN BE MADE AS FAR AS REAL HUMAN GROWTH IS CONCERNED!

THEY JUST HAVE A BETTER CATCH MARKETING PHRASE THEN PURDUE PHARMA HAD FOR OXY!

Drug class: Opioid/NarcoticDrug class: Opioid/NarcoticDrug class: Opioid/NarcoticDrug class: Opioid/Narcotic . DID I SAY drug class opioid narcotic for suboxone???

Here's what's crazy: oxy is still available today! And some doctors are actually ashamed and defensive when asked if they prescribe it. A friend of mine is a doctor and became disturbed when I simply asked if his clinic prescribed the drug. He nervously said they did, but that "patients are weaned off of it if they become dependent." Hel-lo! That's like closing the barn after the horse has escaped. My friend also indicated he was "relieved" because he was about to move to a clinic which did not allow opioid prescriptions. So this still goes on in 1922!

I’ve had many “reasons” and opportunities to take this garbage! I never did, I kept it real with Motrin 800mg. Even when I had my wisdom teeth cut out of my gums, they weren’t even showing yet but because of my job at the time, it was a mandatory thing to have them pulled, 800MG Motrin is what I took. I was living in an extreme hostile environment, 800MG Motrin was my painkiller! It wasn’t much but, it was enough.
I rushed a family member to the hospital one time due to extreme pain they where in, turns out that there arteries where clogged and needed to have emergency surgery. The doctor prescribed that person OxyContin, I pulled the doc aside and asked for something ANYTHING else and let it be known that I was 100% against his prescribed medication. The doctor almost laughed at me and told me that they didn’t have anything else to help with the pain… I was completely baffled. The way doctors handed this garbage out was pathetic! If u just so happened to bend a finger these doctors would hand OxyContin’s out like they where candy.. shame on ANYONE & ALL that contributed in anyway shape or form to the distribution of this unnecessary killer!

Michael Keaton also stated that he lost a nephew to a drug overdose and this role was very personal to him. As an anesthesia provider we do A LOT of research and education on opioid-free anesthesia and analgesia (stopping pain) and I URGE everyone to please insist on what we call "Regional" or "Local" anesthesia when you have surgery, a.k.a. nerve blocks. This helps greatly with post operative pain. We are especially concerned when we have a patient who already has a dependency. This is NOT their fault. A one-time dose of Fentanyl to put you to sleep is not the issue if we mention that, but having post-operative pain and sending you home with a bunch of Oxys is unacceptable in many cases. Ask for a nerve block and do research to see if that can be done, sometimes there may be pushback unfortunately at busy or out-of-date institutions. Please demand it. Personal experience: I had an ACL repair a few months ago and they did two different nerve blocks on my leg with a long acting local anesthetic called Exparel. It was amazing, I got home thinking I could totally walk and put weight on it (but hey take it easy, your leg is numb!) They gave me an oxy at the surgical center per protocol and thank goodness it made me puke when I got home. I was fine the whole time with acetaminophen and ibuprofen all through recovery.
