"Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves' writing team John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein revealed they intentionally "emasculated" the film's leading men, though not for "wokeness."" — If not for wokeness, then what? I was looking forward to this movie until I read this. Get Woke, Go Broke

they said they emasculated all male leading roles and masculated (is that a word?) all the leading women because they think it's "fresh and new" and they did it "not at all for woke reasons"
and hey who knows mabye it's not as bad and what they say is true
but to many it doesn't really sound "fresh and new", as that pretty much has been the norm for atleast the last few years, but in fact rather woke
and normally everything woke puts message above story and character
