I was actually more scared of that father carving the pumpkins like a serial killer and the way the kid said he really wanted that pumpkin

why is everyone saying how good this is? It's way too goofy, the cgi and acting are terrible (especially the farmer, making him look mentally slow just ruins the vibe), and the scene where the mom's head is carved is way too predictable. how do people find this scary?
