I remember seeing this trailer in the theaters. It was one of the only times I ever saw an audience applaud a trailer. When we were leaving after the movie, everyone was talking about this trailer and how good the movie looked.
Then on Monday, I'm at my job and my boss, as usual, had the local talk radio station on to get his daily feed of anger. All they talked about was how people were applauding this trailer because it showed the White House and the Capital getting blown up. "AMERICANS ARE SO SICK AND TIRED OF BILL CLINTON'S CORRUPTION THEY APPLAUD ALIENS BLOWING UP OUR NATION TO DO WHAT WE CITIZENS OUGHT TO BE DOING OURSELVES." That, of course, set my boss off on one of his right winged tirades.
    All I could think was,"HUNH?"

This is a great trailer of this film. It portrays the action and the intensity of a sci fi action blockbuster. This flick was referenced in Jersey Girl (2004) as it was set during 1996.
