Winter 1968 and showbiz legend Judy Garland arrives in Swinging London to perform a five-week sold-out run at The Talk of the Town. It is 30 years since she shot to global stardom in The Wizard of Oz, but if her voice has weakened, its dramatic intensity has only grown. As she prepares for the show, battles with management, charms musicians and reminisces with friends and adoring fans, her wit and warmth shine through. Even her dreams of love seem undimmed as she embarks on a whirlwind romance with Mickey Deans, her soon-to-be fifth husband. Featuring some of her best-known songs, the film celebrates the voice, the capacity for love, and the sheer pizzazz of “the world’s greatest entertainer.”

Judy (2019) is the new drama starring Renée Zellweger, Rufus Sewell and Finn Wittrock.

I just saw the movie. I think Renee did a great job. Did she look exactly like Judy? No, but Renee's love for Judy and her outstanding talent came through to the extent that I was rooting for Judy but with tears in my eyes.

Saw the film yesterday and loved it….Renee Zellweger is AMAZING as Judy….her look, mannerisms and the emotions that she shows in her eyes and face are perfect….the way Hollywood treated this woman is just horrible from the time she starred in the Wizard of Oz….and the husbands who used her with the exception of Liza's father is just as terrible….I highly recommend this film to anyone who is a Judy Garland fan : )))))))))))

did you like the movie or not? You all sound like a bunch of shills for Zellweger to get the Oscar. I haven't seen it yet and I wanted to see what people were saying. How many comments mentioned the Oscar? did any of you actually see the movie? The story line is intriguing but the trailer didn't seem that good.

This movie is extremely respectful of Judy and her children, and her last husband. It could have been sensationalistic, preachy, and negative, but it was not at all. It was a very empathetic portrayal of what she was experiencing. Remember, the late 60s were still a cruel time, even though the seeds of social change had just been sown. Judy appeared on the Dick Cavett show at the same time as the Beatles, and John Lennon, who was misogynistic and abusive, (a product of his generation) trolled Judy, yelling to her to slit her wrists

Saw the movie tonight! Renne is AWESOME! I loved the movie since my parents loved Judy Garland. Now I know why! It's a movie I could watch again just see Renne's acting! She deserved every award she won!

Hands down to Renée Zellweger for her outstanding performance. What a transformation outwardly but her singing & her voice is spot on (Judy Garland). Not a lot of people know she died in her 40’s. This is the best performance I’ve ever seen by a female EVER. Thanks Renée, Judy is clapping up in heaven saying “who does this broad think she is?”, she’s good but she is no Judy”. The industry that made her famous killed her. What made her happy was her kids & the people surrounding her that she loved. Too bad she didn’t get to grow old and watch her kids grow up. It’s extremely hard to watch this movie & not cry during her final performance. She really did say “ You won’t forget me will you”. No we don’t Judy.

She was great in Chicago, but sorry I'm not the only one who thinks this was a huge mistake her trying to take on this role. They do give undeserved Oscars today, too. Try as she might, Zellweger's Judy never goes beyond an impression of the multi-talented artist; her all-caps version of acting fails to allow the role to feel natural.

this was a great role. The only thing they should have done different is not letting Renee Zellweger sing herself. They should have let her playback the Judy Garland voice. But she deserved the Academy Award for this one – for sure!

The best part was “give me the milk Sid, give me the milk”. Good movie truth be told…reality of what these actors went thru is sad. I have a lot of appreciation for them.❤️❤️
