Jupiter Ascending – Official Teaser Trailer [HD]

In theaters July 18, 2014.

Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis star in “Jupiter Ascending,” an original science fiction epic adventure from filmmakers Lana and Andy Wachowski.

Jupiter Jones (Kunis) was born under a night sky, with signs predicting that she was destined for great things. Now grown, Jupiter dreams of the stars but wakes up to the cold reality of a job cleaning other people’s houses and an endless run of bad breaks. Only when Caine (Tatum), a genetically engineered ex-military hunter, arrives on Earth to track her down does Jupiter begin to glimpse the fate that has been waiting for her all along—her genetic signature marks her as next in line for an extraordinary inheritance that could alter the balance of the cosmos.

From the streets of Chicago to far flung galaxies whirling through space, “Jupiter Ascending” is written and directed by the Wachowskis. Award-winning producer Grant Hill, with whom they have collaborated since “The Matrix” Trilogy, is producing, together with Lana Wachowski and Andy Wachowski. Roberto Malerba and Bruce Berman serve as executive producers.

Saw this garbage in theaters with my mom and siblings, and it was just so awful. The girl just did a terrible acting job, and the plot made pretty much no sense at all. Okay so she's supposed to be a reincarnation of some old space queen, but they never explain why or how she was reincarnated. They just say "Oh your a reincarnation" and that's it, to be fair I can't remember the whole movie but I still don't think they ever even try to explain this. There's also this really creepy prince guy that's really incesty, and its just really fucking disgusting. Also Jay Leno's character was the one thing I hated most about this movie, I got nothing against Mr.Leno but I swear he just has a "bad movie vibe" or something always about him (And I'm sure he has good films he's in and that he's a great actor, I just started feeling like this after seeing this movie and Suicide Squad). I know that probably makes zero sense, and sorry I just woke up like 10 minutes ago. Oh and can't forget Wolf boy. So he's like an ex space cop looking to get his badge and his "wings" back, and no I'm not talking metaphorically like he want to get back into the force or something apparently every space officer has a pair or real fucking wings. Honestly that part of the movie also baffled me, but most of this movie already did. So many unexplained rules and random fucking shit seems to happen throughout this movie. Sean Bean is about the only thing I like about this movie, just makes me wish I was watching one of his other movies. I'd give this movie a 3/10, it would be much lower if not for the nice visual effects and stuff, and I can't remember if the movie was good or not so I'm just gonna give that part a pass as well. I'll never watch this movie a second time and honestly even watching it once was already to much, not the worst movie I've ever seen but its up there.

To anyone curious, the soundtrack for this trailer is Fanfare for the History of Planet Earth by Ethan Stoller. Mysteriously it isn't included in the Original Score and there is no purchasable copy on any music streaming services or even a video on YouTube. In fact, most traces of this song and another he wrote for the film seem to have vanished off the web.

Fnally watched this. Infuriating directing. Characters wait without reacting over and over again inexplicably to allow some new peril to develop. And how many times can you do the "villain thinks he got rid of the hero then the damsel in distress is about to get taken advantage of then the hero races against time to save her" in one movie. Cheap tricks like that don't make real drama, tension and release. Disappointing when you think they paid people tens of millions to write and produce this and that's the best they could do.

One of the better sci-fi movies to watch, if you enjoy cult classics like Flash Gordon (1980) or The Fifth Element (1997). My personal favorites.

Jupiter Ascending (2015) is so original enough with beautiful colors, offbeat humor, stylish characters, and spectacular visual effects — that it creates its own unique mark in the world of science fiction, and as a video game fantasy.

Recommended to the living, not the dead.

Excellent movie. Great family fun. _c.

This movie is still at the top of my 3D 4DX experiences list.

The movie is beautifully made. I'm glad that I was able to see this movie in 4DX theaters, as a movie with these kinds of visual tricks demands to be seen on the big screen. This movie boasts great direction, music, and performances.
