Academy Award®-winner Kate Winslet plays Mare Sheehan, a small-town Pennsylvania detective who investigates a local murder as life crumbles around her. From creator and writer Brad Ingelsby (“The Way Back”), with all episodes directed by Craig Zobel (HBO’s “The Leftovers”), the seven-part limited series is an exploration into the dark side of a close community and an authentic examination of how family and past tragedies can define our present.

I just find it unbelievable that they can afford & give a good enough script for Kate Winslet while not for action movie stars…before Willis got big he acted in a romance action show titles Moonlighting for 4 seasons before Die Hard 1year before it ended

It wasn't the first episode, but the second episode that pulled me in. It was phenomenal. I love crime dramas. Oh but the ending. Perfect. I love the cliff hangers, and the way the story flowed. Beautiful writing.

When I saw Siobhan Sheehan (Angourie Rice) I thought that I have seen her in some TV show before. Then I realized that it must be someone who looks exactly like her. I started to think and finally it came to my mind that she looks like April (Alison Pill) in "In Treatment". Or maybe Alison Pill in some other TV show. Have anyone thought the same thing?

Mare is somehow a very loyal friend to me. But I'm not like Lori. I am like Mare, because there are a few paralel things – not exactly the same things, but when it comes to the main things, yes, I can find myself in Mare's Charakters. And directly to Kate Winslet right now: Dear Kate, all the Seven Episodes are honestly brilliant with you. You made everything perfect! Hugh hugs full of Loyality from me to you.

This was a great show. Watched it last year, and loved every minute of it. Being from the mid-Atlantic region, I thought it captured life in that particular area of PA (rustic in a way) well.

I know I'm going to be crucified but I don't care. I was really looking forward to watching this show. Couldn't even make it through the first episode of this drivel. So unrelentingly bleak with unlikeable disfunctional characters and almost every marginalized trope shoehorned in. Yes, you want to see different people represented but this is so unrealistically over the top! Unwatchable junk. So bad it looks like a drama made by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.
