I'm really interested in the aesthetic decision by filmmakers to shoot their film in black and white in this day and age. Hopefully it adds to the film rather than being wanky, as many people try to be by using it for no reason at all.
Is the song original or something else? I really lone it. Set's the vibe of the movie quite well.

Brilliant minimalistic filmmaking.
Saw it this week. Fantastic! This movie nailed it! And I recognized Plainview (Hawthorne) right away, since I grew up 20 miles south of there.

I am a Nebraska native, which is why i think i would be too embarrassed to watch this film. I come from a small town, but i don't recall anyone speaking with a dirty south accent. Let's clear something up, even in the small towns, people speak with NEUTRAL accents!!
Bruce Dern is such an underrated actor. He has held his own against the legends. I am happy people are seeing him for what he is, a master of the craft, yet modest.
