The Call of the Wild | Official Trailer | 20th Century Studios

Adapted from the beloved literary classic, THE CALL OF THE WILD vividly brings to the screen the story of Buck, a big-hearted dog whose blissful domestic life is turned upside down when he is suddenly uprooted from his California home and transplanted to the exotic wilds of the Yukon during the Gold Rush of the 1890s. As the newest rookie on a mail delivery dog sled team–and later its leader–Buck experiences the adventure of a lifetime, ultimately finding his true place in the world and becoming his own master.

As a live-action/animation hybrid, THE CALL OF THE WILD employs cutting edge visual effects and animation technology in order to render the animals in the film as fully photorealistic–and emotionally authentic–characters.

I just watched this movie for the first time and it was so much better than I had hoped it would be! You pretty much get used to the CGI after a couple of minutes. It was done well and a great way to add some subtle expression and emotions to the dogs and wolves. The first half of the storyline with the whole owner to owner thing kind of gave me Black Beauty vibes. The music and scenery is also very beautiful, from northern light skies to arctic planes and mountain landscapes. I truly enjoyed this movie.

If you like this fully stolen movie, you should watch the original. Balto (1995). Its where this movie got it’s whole concept from, and Balto is the best movie ever made and nu fav for 20 years. There is also Balto 2 and 3. A must watch if you like this movie. Not hating on this movie just the fact that this is almost all from Balto I just don’t like at all.

For so long I put off this movie because I didn't like the CGI, but despite the CGI not being what you wanted to be this movie is still great and I hate that I took so long to watch it.

It's definitely up there in my top five animal centered movies.

Puts me in the mind of war horse, Hidalgo or Spirit the stallion. Of course it's not as good as those movies but it's still good nonetheless

this movie looks whack oftten because Harrison Ford refused to leave California, so all the snowy scenes, basically all the movies were shot in california lol. i do love the movie and love Ford. but yeh. if you didn't know. now ya know. no harrison ford shots were done in the snow.
