The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power – SDCC Trailer

Discover the legend that forged the rings. September 2 on Prime Video. #TheRingsOfPower

Prime Video’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power brings to screens for the very first time the heroic legends of the fabled Second Age of Middle-earth’s history. This epic drama is set thousands of years before the events of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, and will take viewers back to an era in which great powers were forged, kingdoms rose to glory and fell to ruin, unlikely heroes were tested, hope hung by the finest of threads, and the greatest villain that ever flowed from Tolkien’s pen threatened to cover all the world in darkness. Beginning in a time of relative peace, the series follows an ensemble cast of characters, both familiar and new, as they confront the long-feared re-emergence of evil to Middle-earth. From the darkest depths of the Misty Mountains, to the majestic forests of the elf-capital of Lindon, to the breathtaking island kingdom of Númenor, to the furthest reaches of the map, these kingdoms and characters will carve out legacies that live on long after they are gone.

When Aragorn asked "What do you mean, an african or a european swallow?" after the bridge keeper asked him about the air speed velocity of a unladen swallow, it sent shivers down my spine.

When Elrond (played by Wayne Brady) is interrupted whilst addressing his subordinates, and he snaps back with "The almighty Galadriel says don't change the subject, just answer the fuckin' question," I laughed and laughed. Classic Elrond. ♥

That scene where Isildur asked Dumbledore if he put the Ring into the goblet of fire calmly was an acting masterpiece, rarely is a scene from star wars this memorable.

I am still waiting for a fantasy-historical Chinese Wuxia TV-series (flying sword masters in the Qing and Tang aera and what not…) with Will Smith and Halle Berry playing the lead roles…

It's amazing that even trashy fan-fiction can get to the screen in these days. 50 shades of grey did it and I'm sure Rings of Power will do just great. Maybe some of the people in the show can build a career out of this, learn to act and land some real gigs some day.

When Galadriel calmly took Gandalf and bent him over and began lubing him up for a pounding by those fools of a tooks. While he cried in pain and threw leftover cum in the eyes of 3 trolls that were quite well and happy to be there. Can no doubt be the tale of the century thank you master bezos.

That moment when Bear Grylls rappelled down from the helicopter in the middle of Mordor and destroyed the ring himself was THE moment in television history.

Jackson REQUIRED any front line rider in the charge of pelennor fields to not only have read Tolkiens book but to be able to recite verse from this scene. He wanted them to feel the importance of this moment. This stupid cast worries more about the CO2 given off by the Nazguls gas causing global warming

"El fracaso de las películas flojas recae a menudo en la exageración y en la intrusión de injustificadas materias poco conectadas con el corazón del asunto original" (frase de J.R.R. Tolkien).

When Tolkien said to Eric Cartman that his name is spelled with L and it's just silent and it was time to unchain him and go do some good old a** whooping of Leonardo Dicaprio's character from the movie Django in Hollywood, I was literally blown away from my chair, fell on the floor and broke my leg in three different places.

I literally cried when Galadriel dropped the house on Sauron and then, together with fake fanfiction dwarf queen and two fake fanfiction definitely not hobbits , skipped down the road into the distance singing "Follow the Yellow Brick Road".

The show should contain a disclaimer saying "Any resemblance between these characters and real and better written Tolkien characters is purely coincidence and unintended"

When Galadriel prepares plans against Sauron and says to Elrond: "If it bleeds, we can kill it." That truly sent chills down my spine. Amazing piece of television!
