Uncover the truth. Steven Spielberg’s #ThePost arrives in theaters this Christmas.

Steven Spielberg directs Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks in The Post, a thrilling drama about the unlikely partnership between The Washington Post’s Katharine Graham (Streep), the first female publisher of a major American newspaper, and editor Ben Bradlee (Hanks), as they race to catch up with The New York Times to expose a massive cover-up of government secrets that spanned three decades and four U.S. Presidents. The two must overcome their differences as they risk their careers – and their very freedom – to help bring long-buried truths to light.

The Post marks the first time Meryl Streep, Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg have collaborated on a project. In addition to directing, Spielberg produces along with Amy Pascal and Kristie Macosko Krieger. The script was written by Liz Hannah and Josh Singer, and the film features an acclaimed ensemble cast including Alison Brie, Carrie Coon, David Cross, Bruce Greenwood, Tracy Letts, Bob Odenkirk, Sarah Paulson, Jesse Plemons, Matthew Rhys, Michael Stuhlbarg, Bradley Whitford and Zach Woods.

I had absolutely nothing to do with this film, but it's great.  The Greatest Showman, is, of course, a much better film in terms of emotion, but for "real life" drama, these guys are perfect.
The trouble with Meryl Streep is that she's such a chameleon.  You watch the movie and you say to yourself, "Wow, who was that?"  She was great, spectacular in a dozen films before I put them all together with her name.  Tom Hanks is Tom Hanks, he's a little different in this film, but he's instantly recognizable.  The rest were just OK.  I would have given Streep more growth in the film, myself, and make it a bit less about the deadline, but hey, like Stevie, I've forgotten more about stories than all the professors in all the colleges will ever learn, heh Stevie?  It's nice that you read my comments.  Your little one is a great doctor, same eye lights, cool.  Thanks for letting her take care of me.

This was a good movie. Tom is good. However a much stronger and gifted actor should have played opposite the great Meryl Streep. The great William Hurt for example. That combination of a great talent would have been thrilling to watch!
