keeps a real good edge…different towns have different edges…LA is a totally different edge from Bayou country, and Series 2 shows off w/ a definite LA vibe to it…Vince V. does not disappoint…ditto: Colin & Rachel…all VERY watchable, very LA.

each series should stand alone…they aren't meant to segue off of each other…that would become predictable, boring.

5 stars ! best on TV.

My standards are high when it comes to TV series and films, I know that sounds pompous af but it's the truth. I wish I could like more things, season 1 of True Detective was phenomenal. Never got to finish it when it first came out so I rewatched all of it at week….imo shows like this are tricky cuz if one of them doesnt seem as good ppl write it off as shit when really you're just comparing a apples and oranges, season 1 is the all time.most watched show EVER per episode. It averaged 11.5 million views/episode. You can't compare anything to that unless you're talkin Breaking bad or the wire

Im very critical of TV and movies, I wish I wasnt, is season 2 worth watching? I'm not even gonna compare it to season 1 cuz I already know it wont be that good but I'm thinking about skipping season 2 and watching season 3, first episode of season 2 was meh to me, season 1 was phenomenal from beginning to end, Woody and Mcanaghuey chemistry is unmatched, they made an epic season together, Woody gets overlooked for how good he was but Cohle was just to powerful of a character. It's like comparing Eli to Daniel Plainview in there will be blood cuz they play off each other very well but one of the performances is just too special

Dose anyone recommend season 2 I skipped it because I heard it wasn't good , I watched season one and 3 . Season one hands down best season ever, the only issue I have is season 3 the freaking ending sucked confusing . Which they changed it , it wasn't good .

This was so bad Nicholas Cage turned it down. The only thing worse than the writing was the chic singing to herself in an empty bar. A wonderful group of brilliant actors and even that couldn't save this season from cringeworthy lines.
